Tamamushi University Magikarp (1998) Publication Date: 1998 Grading: PSA 10 Market Price: $66,000 (most recent sale, 2021) The Tamamushi University Magikarp is a perfect example of how even Pokmons most unlikely star can become a desired collectors prize
For example, you can't sacrifice a Nutrient Block to activate its own last ability and also to pay the cost of Ragost, Deft Gastronaut's second ability
Set Composition: 126+1 card types: 6 Leaders, 45 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares, 2 Secret Rares, 6 Special cards, 1 Treasure Rare, and 1 DON
If the tap ability doesnt cut it to finish the game, you can use a Craterhoof Behemoth style effect to overrun the table
The former doubles a creatures power and toughness until the end of turn, while the latter has the spell deal five damage to a creature with flying
Obviously, this doesnt work super well against Armies, since they will have counters to remove that allows this to untap, and there are other +1/+1 counters in the set too
