He is certainly not unplayable, but stopping life gain is not that big an impact on the game, paying two life and two mana for an extra card is nowhere near as good as Underworld Connections, and that leaves us needing to consistently get the body to make him worth it
I was considering to leave them out completely but the card designs differ more or less from earlier sets with same art so decided to add them anyway
