Magic: The Gathering has specific ways it represents story elements through its gameplay, and I'm happy to see that these mechanics were translated so well to create an authentic-feeling Final Fantasy experience that goes much deeper than Cactuar's 9999 damage ability
The conversation starts in a very weird way as Ervos tells Marchesa that he intends to have her assassinated
Its cheap and has a thing for noncreature spells, so I can see it in Jeskai combo decks that require using its abilities to generate card advantage
Sidequest: Play Blitzball | Illustration by Ittoku Sidequests are often very time-consuming and boring to do in video games, but some games take sidequesting to another level, which ends up being exciting, with good rewards, world exploration, character development, or even interesting dialogue
