Cards that fail: characters with triggered abilities that require another specific named card, high-cost characters with no built-in protection in a color with no cheap support, items or actions that enhance characters you might not have
Those are all great ways to sift the sands as it were, but there dont seem to be many subjective lists that go over what makes an incredibly cool or interesting card
