I think the faces are pretty great whoever they are

which is a bit longer and fatter

hers given a watercolor blush and framed with fantastic headpiece

which I believe would have held it tight to the long post

Boldly graphic but delicate and gestural and full of energy and movement

Ink Drawing with SeeSawing Children on Reverse cast hand I think the faces areThe drawing of the "elder sister" book open, cross around her neck, and younger brother to either side is what first sold me on this 19th c. ink drawing, but there are more delights to be found everywhere, including those great baskets filled high with fruit, that energetically rendered tree (the source of the bounty I presume) with a little bird on a branch to the right side, and a series of scrolls announcing the drawing as the work of a young Annie
