This is a very early 1980's rod with a wood lip to the cork diameter and no roller die stamp

dark garnet wraps (it's actually a light purple color before varnish) and a maroon edge at the keeper and male ferrules

The rod shows signs of having been refinished and whoever did it knew what they were doing as the varnish overcoat was expertly done

The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length with a slight set in the tip. Mahogany wraps. The decals and script remain clean and bold free of any defects. The cigar style grip is 4 1 2" in length with only light soiling. Aluminum cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. The stamped on the butt cap reads, "J. S. Sharpe
