with just a bit of loss to the gold lettering at center bottom

Best is that it is in fact a bit of a failure--there are a couple of splits where the wood of the sides meets the top

it's been beaten up and lived a life and been mended all over

though mostly not

Lovely Handmade Reticella Needle Lace Doily cigarette box black marker on white paper:I'm a sucker for a needle lace doily like this; all those precise, tiny knots. This one in ecru, early 20th century I believe, feels to me like a snowflake to hang in the window for winter. Not especially uncommon to find these, but I think this is a lovely one. 6 5 8" in diameter, very good condition, a few small stains toning in a couple of spots, very minor and not detracting.
