I like the connection between the figure mining for fish hidden below the surface of the ice and the box itself as a place where treasures are concealed and kept safe

which are jointed at the  shoulders and elbows

which is very simple wood

Carved from what looks to be one piece of wood

but that is not the case with this one

Charming Little Hand-carved Wooden Lion brave I like the connection betweenSuch a great little lion! I'm having a really hard time resisting little handmade creatures, especially those that that possess such a wonderful sense of the humanity of their maker, as does this one. I love how the line of her nose extends all the way down from her eyes (which seem to see into my soul!), the human lips, and the super straight whiskers on either side above it. This little lion is definitely owning the space in which she lounges! 4 3
