I would guess this piece dates to the mid 20th century

with a few scratches to the finish at the base of the handle and a couple of black spots on the wood

which was painted on canvas and stretched across a handmade thick wood frame

While the sale was loaded with other (mostly much larger) paintings and sculptures by him
