Orvis Rocky Mountain Bamboo Fly Rod 6'6" 3/2 #4/5 4-Piece dark brown silk windingsA rare early Orvis Rocky Mountain bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 3 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #4 or #5 line. The shaft is inked with "Orvis Impregnated" and "Pat Pending" (the word "impregnated" is partially gone though legible). The serial number "5640" is inked between the ferrule and uppermost guide wraps on the butt, and just next to the male ferrules on the mid and tips. The rod dates to 1948. Excellent lightly used condition with a little ridging to
