I believe this likely dates to the 1950s or so and is good condition--sound

4 3/8" long x 3" across

and which makes a tremendously satisfying spooling sound when the handle is turned) would be threaded through the hook at the tip of the arrow and then dropped through a hole drilled in the ice

but all are extraordinary miniature works of serious art despite being made for the most part by children

Antique Handmade Valentine: To Frank from Emily (Look Inside!) re-sale I believe this likely datesYesterday I came across a bunch of old handmade valentines, including this one, filling me with total joy. This may be my favorite of the lot a bit unassuming on the outside, though with this lovely scalloped edging, but then inside 4 hearts for our dear Frank, who I'm very sad seems never to have chosen one to give back to our Emily, who clearly expended a great deal effort on him! Another one that makes my heart ache. 5 3 4" x 3 3 4" closed. C. 1900
