antique sailor-made macrame baskets feel like such special things to me—in some part at least because I really like the image of sailors finely knotting these baskets to kill time

A little staining along the top edge and paper is somewhat brittle but overall good condition and so good

with the grain of the wood adding to the terrific sculptural quality of the man and his horse

Antique French Deco Gold and Blue Micro-beaded Purse eathty see detail photoNot exactly my usual thing, but I find the beadwork on this, using tiny tiny metallic beads, so fine and lovely I could not resist it, and it feels quite glamorous and transportive. Made in France, c. 1920s I believe, it is a bit delicate to actually use now, and is missing a front closure, but I really like looking at it, and surely there are a variety of ways it could be displayed, or just kept around to serve as inspiration. Clearly it once was
