One end of the wooden handle has broken off near the tip such that it does not extend all of the way down the side of the basket--not very noticeable

On its underside is the remains of what I think was an old label

to wear it is to feel like a superstar

The wood is about 1/8" thick

Dark Wood and Wire Antique Corkscrew small carved boar A symbol of transition andI have a weakness for old wooden corkscrews, and this is quite a nice one, with the wire wrapped twice all the way around the turned wood handle, with both ends twisted tightly together until about half way down. The turned dark wood handle is nicely detailed at the ends, and the whole thing is quite a pleasure to use. I believe this one dates to the very late 19th century. Great antique condition. 4" long, 3 5 8" wide x 3 4" deep.
