Transcendent (and Ultra Painterly) Froebel Kindergarten Folded Paper Composition jointed bear just below the knightYou know I love my antique Froebel kindergarten folded and woven paper exercises, usually the finer the better, but for me this one transcends those origins to read, and satisfy, like a sophisticated abstract painting. In part due to the chance unfolding of a few of those purple corners long ago, and also due to the slightly off kilter arrangement of those square (and torn edges of the backing paper too) it makes me think of the work of Hlio Oiticica
