and find this one both exquisitely beautiful in the way it is rendered and quite poetic in its perfect matter of factness

which I found at a fantastic estate sale of a world traveller and avid collector in Lynn

At first I took her for a nun, but now I think more likely she was meant to be a pilgrim. Her maker did a pretty brilliant job with her crepe paper dress, especially the almost origami like wrap of her bonnet turning into shawl, knotted in the back.
